Details:

Solution by scrutinizing the available data to examine the adequacy of the river flow with respect to the 24 hours navigability of Brahmaputra between Dhubri to Sadiya. Study the preliminary river hydraulics to check the availability and maintainability of the Least Available Depth (LAD) of 2 m and a channel width of 45 to 50 m.

Analysis of river topography using the satellite imageries for assessing the meandering course of the river stretch so as to identify safe and robust locations for anchor and preliminary Analysis of river hydraulics based on the data available on the discharge of the river at known gauge discharge station for minimum flow.

Satellite imageries were analysed for the validating the port locations suggested by the client. Subsequently the same was verified by hydraulic modelling using the river topography and the observed lowest minimum flow on Brahmaputra for the minimum navigational requirement.

A similar exercise was done for the river Barak from Karimganj to Mankush and for the river Ganga from Patna to Bhagalpur
