Hydrological Study of Renuka Wetland Catchment (500 ha)

  • Hydrological Study of Renuka Wetland Catchment (500 ha)

Client: State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, Shimla

To workout the water balance of the Renuka lake catchment using the hydrological modeling approach.

To facilitate modeling instrumentation in terms of installing a raingauge and a discharge measurement station at Renuka wetland to capture daily observations has been initiated. The outputs shall include the rate of runoff, percolation and evaporation in the catchment and their proportion using mathematical hydrological model, sediment yield of various sub-microwatersheds based on the drainage pattern and the water balance by using the total inflow and outflow of the Renuka catchment and ground water potential of the area.
